List of data subject to collection:
- Email
- Reason: An email address is required during sign-up. It is also used when a user forgets their password and needs to reset it.
- Message content
- Reason: Messages are not collected for analysis or external use. However, they are not end-to-end encrypted because, to support the multi-device sync feature, message data must remain accessible on the server. Multi-device synchronization allows a user to access their messages on another device after successfully logging into the app. The private encryption key, which is part of the encryption process, cannot be transferred when logging in on another device.
- User’s friends
- Reason: To display the correct friends list, this data must be stored in the server database.
